Controversial gospel musician Alex Apoko alias Ringtone has spoken following his alleged arrest for causing confusion and disturbance.

The ‘Talanta’ hit maker has revealed that he was arrested for advertising without the required permits.

Ringtone took to social media to announce that he had been arrested while on a mission to look for a wife. He was holding a placard outside Cooperative University in Karen which was captioned ‘Looking for a wife’. In the poster, he also captioned the qualities he is looking for in a woman.

“Prayers Please! Is it a crime to look for a wife? Why are police arresting me while I’m leaving @cooperativeUniversity Karen? They must release me. Eti am prostituting and causing confusion” he wrote on an Instagram post.

He later confirmed he had been released following intervention by friends.

In an interview earlier with a local TV station, the singer said that Kenyan ladies have been ignoring him. He further disclosed that he has been walking with the poster for a while and he was surprised that nobody spotted him.

Earlier, he publicly announced that he wanted to marry South Africa-based tycoon Zari Hassan following her publicized break up with pop star Diamond Platnumz.

The contentious singer who is not new to controversy went ahead to buy Zari popularly known as the ‘boss lady’ a new Range Rover 2017 while she was in Kenya for a concert mid of 2018. On being asked whether she was interested in the gift in an interview later, Zari said the vehicle should be donated elsewhere as she is a level higher, aiming to own a jet.

It later emerged that the “Pamela’ singer had hired the car and was just pulling a publicity stunt because he was sure Zari would not accept the gift.
