Former Citizen TV Anchor To Make Screen Comeback At Rival Station

Former Citizen TV news presenter Janet Mbugua is set to make a screen comeback after taking two years break from TV.

The veteran journalist will be joining NTV and is expected to soon make a debut with a new show dubbed ‘Here And Now’.

She took to Instagram to announce her come back in a post that read, ‘So this is happening! I’m back on TV! With @ntvkenya, on Thursdays…#HereAndNow. The butterflies in my stomach are REAL, but so is my excitement! Follow @hereandnowke for details!”

The post has attracted quite some reactions from her fans who have been anxiously waiting for her return which she had promised would come. Owed to to her bubbly personality coupled with her mastery of news presentation, the veteran journalist became a darling to many during her days on screen.

Janet who is also a mother of two has been away from the limelight for a while after she announced she will be taking a break from social media.”I have learned to keep off the internet so I can concentrate on other aspects of my life. I take that time off social media as ‘leave’,” she said.

The former news presenter who sees ‘anchoring as one of her greatest blessing in life’ shocked many after announcing she was leaving TV. She later revealed that she left TV to focus on other things she was passionate about like empowering girls, authoring and public speaking as well. Janet also disclosed that news anchoring was consuming much of her time making her fatigued.

Her announcement however confirm that the former news presenter has been able to tackle ‘the much she had on her plate’ and that she is ready to do what she earlier termed as ‘one of her greatest blessing in life.’
