Sensational Gospel musician Mercy Masika has landed a new ambassadorial deal.
She has been appointed the Goodwill Ambassador by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Mercy took to Instagram to share the good news with her fans in a post she captioned, “I believe this role is given to us together to represent our own especially those that we are called to, the vulnerable, persecuted and everyone forced to flee, did you know Jesus was a refugee? Thank you @unhcrkenya @unhcr for this honor,” she wrote.
She is the first Kenyan to be appointed to the prestigious position.
“Being a Christian and a child of God the scripture says so many times take care of the foreigner among you and so that drew me very much to working with UNHCR,” said Mercy Masika.
In November 2017, the ‘Mwema’ singer was unveiled as East Africa’s brand ambassador for Ariel, Procter & Gamble’s product. Her resilience was what earned her the position according to Ariel brand manager Francisco Gala.
On being appointed, an elated Mercy Masika took to Instagram and announced, “I’m excited today to be a part of a major brand Ariel as the Brand Ambassador. As a woman I am passionate to build community. Ariel brand works very closely with women, empowering them financially through various programs. Being a user of Ariel I have witnessed that it does indeed remove stubborn stains in one wash. That is why being Ambassador naturally appealed to me.Thank you Ariel and Procter and Gamble for this opportunity.”
