The County government of Kisumu has launched a road named after funnyman Eric Omondi.
The celebrated comedian took to social media to share the news that has received wide coverage by Kenyan tabloids.
In his announcement post on Instagram, he wrote, “Thank you so much Kisumu County Government for this GREAT HONOR …I will forever CHERISH this. I promise to make you even prouder!!! I will endeavor to lift the name of my County Kisumu and Country Kenya🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪 higher and Higher. This is my home, My town, My City, My Country.” Said
He added that he hopes the move encourages someone that they can make it no matter who they are or where they come from.
While a number of his online fans were quick to send their congratulatory messages, some were reluctant to believe the announcement, highlighting that the comedian was pulling a stunt just to hype his upcoming show.
The self-declared President of comedy has made a name for himself in the comedy industry. He has established himself on the international scene, a move which earned him an award for best African comedian, an accolade which highly sought-after.
