A middle-aged Kenyan man on Monday has survived a hyena attack. The man from Kyelleni village was savaged by a hyena while heading home from his local shopping center.
Reports indicate that the man is now receiving treatment in Kangundo Level 4 Hospital after being passers-by came to his rescue.
Polycarp Okuku, Kenya Wildlife Service officer, has confirmed the incident adding that the casualty is responding to treatment.
“The patient is recuperating in the hospital where he was rushed for treatment. Members of the public should report any wild animals they see in their neighborhoods so that KWS can take necessary action to avert incidents such as this,” said Okuku
It is suspected that the hyena wandered off from Mt Kilimambogo’s Ol Donyo Sabuk National Reserve.
