American rapper and songwriter Shawn Corey Carter, professionally known as Jay-Z, could be having roots in Rwanda.

This information surfaced online after Beyonce released her latest album titled “The Lion King: The Gift.” Through her song titled ‘Mood 4 Eva’, Beyonce hinted that her “baby father,” Jay Z has a ‘bloodline in Rwanda.’

In the song, she features her husband Jay Z and Childish Gambino.

“I’m so unbothered; I’m so unbothered
Y’all be so pressed while I’m raisin’ daughters
Sons of empires, y’all make me chuckle
Stay in your struggle, crystal blue water
Piña colada-in’, you stay Ramada Inn
My baby father, bloodline Rwanda
Why would you try me? Why would you bother?
I am Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter,” a part of her song reads.

Since the album was released, Rwanda’s social media has been awash with users expressing their excitement. Some people even went to the extent of asserting that the rapper could be their long lost relative.

“The first billionaire rapper in the world is from Rwanda…Jay Z”, an excited fan wrote.

The singer was named the world’s first billionaire rapper by Forbes. The magazine claimed that the 49-year-old’s empire “conservatively” totals USD 1 Bn or Ksh. 104 Bn.

Jay Z and Beyonce have not given any further details about the billionaire’s bloodline, but Rwanda and the world is interested to hear more.
