President Uhuru Kenyatta recently received a special gift from Tanzania’s President Pombe Magufuli.
The head of state received four peacocks from his Tanzanian counterpart which were delivered by Tanzanian High Commissioner to Kenya Dr Pindi Hazara Chana.
Symbolically, peacocks have different meanings in different cultures and religions. In India, the original home of peacocks, they symbolise royalty and power.
In other cultures, the bird is representative of glory, immortality, royalty, and incorruptibility. Peacock possesses some of the most admired human characteristics, including beauty.
