Even though he’s currently in jail, it seems like there’s nothing Vybz Kartel can’t do! This time, the dancehall artiste seems to be eyeing a top government seat. This is according to the video of his latest song ‘World Government’. He released the song on January 7, his 44th birthday.
In the ‘World Government’ video, Vybz Kartel talks about his vision of the perfect government and the start of his political platform. Some of the things he mentions in the song include a house and a Mercedes Benz for all the youth, as well as free education and better access to essential services. The catchy song is part of his new album To Tanesha which is due for release on January 10.
Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, is a well-known Jamaican dancehall artiste. He has released countless hit songs and his influence on music is felt all over the world, even here in Kenya. He’s been in prison from 2011 from where he keeps releasing new music. In addition, Vybz Kartel and three others were convicted for the murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams in 2014 and given mandatory life sentences.
While Vybz Kartel may not get a chance to carry out all his plans in his ‘World Government’ video, maybe his ideas will inspire others. It would be a great birthday present, don’t you think?
