A Nairobi court was on the 8th of January 2020 treated to a generous dose of drama after a suspect headbutted a police officer as he was being escorted out of the courtroom.
Daniel Njonjo was charged with the intent to commit robbery with violence.
Njonjo’s charge sheet read that he was found in possession of a knife and rungu on Kimathi street in Nairobi on the 7th of January.
After pleading guilty, Njonjo was granted a cash bail of Ksh.30,000 and a bond of Ksh.50,000. An amount the accused said he was not able to raise.
This was right before he gave one of the police who was escorting him out of the court a headbutt.
