Digital strategist Dennis Itumbi found himself in a rather compromising situation yesterday. This is after he was allegedly clobbered by 18 policemen as he was trying to access his car from Kilimani Police Station.
What Itumbi did not say in the video was that he had joined Deputy President William Ruto’s allies in seeking the release of Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria. A move that forced police to hurl teargas to disperse the meeting.
Moses Kuria was arrested on grounds of allegedly assaulting Kiambu activist, Joyce Wanja.
The viral video shows a distraught Itumbi running away from the alleged beating.
Here is what he had to say:
“Wamenichapa. They hit me as I went back to take my car. 18 policemen rained blows, they started kicking. What kind of people are these?
“I am even shocked by the police. They would rather even have arrested me and put me in the cell. My only mistake was to go to a public police station to pick my car, surely!”
Here is the video:
Last night Denis Itumbi beaten senseless by police at Kilimani police station. Was crying and wailing. What a time to be alive. From defending the government to being beaten by the same government. Pole Sana bro. Government indeed eats its own. And yes… As Ruto said, dark days! pic.twitter.com/wvAna7vkeR
