With seven confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Kenya, everyone is on high alert. This pandemic has infected more than 300,000 people and killed more than 13,000 people around the world. It has also led to a complete shutdown of businesses, entertainment spots and other non-essential things as people practice social distancing and try to contain the spread of coronavirus. Here in Kenya, coronavirus screening centers and containment areas have even been set aside, and here’s where you can find them.
KEMRI is located along Mbagathi Road, Nairobi. Coronavirus screening has now expanded capacity to other KEMRI centers all over Kenya, including Busia, Kisumu, Kericho and Kilifi.
This can be found at the National Public Health Laboratories which is located at Kenyatta National Hospital Grounds, Hospital Road, Nairobi.
The hospital is located at Hospital Road, Nairobi. Apart from just screening for coronavirus, KNH also has an isolation facility for anyone tested positive at the Infectious Diseases Unit (IDU) Mbagathi, which is next to Mbagathi Hospital. In addition, Kenyatta National Hospital is also offering counselling services for those affected.
In addition to the official coronavirus screening centers all over Kenya, the government has also set up screening at 34 points of entry into Kenya, according to government spokesperson Col (Rtd) Cyrus Oguna.
